My Bhaijan, Mir Irshad Ali

Imam Irshad Ali, my eldest brother, was born to our parents, Mir Sajjad Ali and Sayyeda Bano on 5th August, 1940, in Hyderabad Deccan India. We were a happy  family with four brothers and two sisters. Bhaijan was always very conscious  of his responsibility as the eldest sibling to care for us and teach us good habits specially praying five times a day punctually. He was always punctual with the prayers himself.  He believed in leading by example! My mother used to always remember that when was eleven years old, Bhaijan had typhoid and had become very weak. He used to be in bed mostly. He kept asking Amma what time it was, quite often. Once Amma got a little irritated and asked him why he kept checking the time. He replied, ' in order to say my prayers on time through out the day'. One can imagine how touched Amma must have been and how proud she must have felt of her first born.

There are so many other similar incidents which show how much importance he gave to speaking the truth, praying on time, asking for parents' and Allah's forgiveness for any small mistake he committed and being kind to and friendly with  everyone around. He was a very normal teenager who enjoyed many sports, was a good student at school, took part in all fun activities and enjoyed good food! He enjoyed watching good movies too, but he took a prayer mat with him to pray during the interval!!

He went to Masjid regularly and was greatly appreciated by all elders there. He was very popular with all youngsters in our locality. After completing his Post Graduation he left for UK which was his great desire, for higher studies.

All his life he worked to spread goodness around him and was a very good Muslim. We all feel so proud to be his close relatives. May Allah  shower His choicest Blessings on Bhaijan, grant him maghfirat and a high place in Jannat ul Firdaus. Ameen.
